Carol L. Peachee, M.A., founder of The Center for Mindful Living Practices,is a pioneer in the integrative health field with over 32 years of clinical experience in counseling, and 25 years of experience in mindfulness practices and internal arts. Carol began her path into integrative practices as a student of John Heider, teacher of human potential group process at Esalen Institute and author of The Tao of Leadership. As a student of Master Wei Lun Huang for the past twenty years she has mastered several internal arts, including Yang style long form Tai Chi, tai chi sword, Lui He Ba Fa, and QiGong. Most recently she has studied with meditation teacher Mingyur Rinpoche, the author of Joyful Living and with psychologist Dr. Zindel Segal, author of The Mindful Way Through Depression.
Carol has served on the advisory board for the University of Kentucky Medical School's NIH grant for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, is a founding member and past board president of WaysMeet Healing Arts Center, a member of Berea Healing Arts, and maintains a holistic and integrative private practice as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She teaches MBCT and MBSR groups and trainings for clients, professionals, and organizations.
Carol's artistic career is focused in photography. She began her serious work studying with Janine Niepce in Paris France in 1975 working in black and white film photography. Current mediums include B&W digital, HDR digital, Polaroid Transfer, and B&W film medium format. Her recent projects include a collaboration with the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation entitled "Historic Ruins of the Blue Grass", a photo essay in Polaroid Transfers on the subject of Memoir, and Black and White work on the contemplative landscape.
