The Center for Mindful Living Practices - Behavioral Health Services, KY

TAI CHI

Tai Chi is a moving mindfulness practice that originated in China over 2000 years ago. Tai Chi combines the elements of slow, gentle movement with mindful awareness, focused breathing and relaxed balance. Each movement flows into the next in a slow, relaxed and graceful series of movements that keep the body in a flow of motion.

As mind-body practice and a path to enhanced well being, Tai Chi focuses on the interactions of emotional, mental, spiritual, and behavioral factors with health. The combination of breath, focused attention, and physical movement, along with inner and outer balance creates increased flexibility, increased energy, stamina and agility, reduced stress response, improved sleep quality, improved cardiovascular fitness and improved everyday functioning.
